What is Tax Business Owners of America?

It is a LinkedIn group that already has over 100 members.  TBOA is a network of Independent Tax Business Owners and supporters who share information, ideas and best practices to compete on a level playing field with the national tax firms. Join now.

    I’m just at the thinking stage of starting my own tax preparer’s business. I’m looking into H&R Block’s classroom course against an on-line course. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

    A good idea. Should at least charge nominal dues and have minimum cost registered or certification tax preparer courses.

    Don,

    I actually took the H&R Block class when I decided to go into tax preparation. I was not impressed.

    After years of college and tax classes I would reccomed the Income Tax School. They have a very comprehensive program that will provide everything you need to get certified with the IRS for the upcoming competency exam… and all the online classes you need to further your education for a reasonable cost.
